The first step in negative feedback is when the pituitary gland releases TSH (a hormone that is made and released by your pituitary gland). While this happens, the thyroid gland produces thyroxine (a hormone made and released by the thyroid gland). While both of these steps are happening, the hypothalamus senses that the cells have a lot energy stored in them. When the body has heated up enough, the body stops the glands from producing THS and thyroxine, and the hypothalamus senses that cells need more energy (AKA homeostasis).
The release of the hormone thyroxine is controlled through negative feedback. When enough thyroxine is present, the system signals the thyroid gland to stop releasing the hormone.
